A Day At The Farm with Farmer Jason Real Roots Cafe Jason Ringenberg was, with his Scorchers, the founder of the cowpunk and he still never recoils from climbing on top of two big piled-up speakerboxes to just play that harmonica-solo! He also loves his little daughters very much and life on the farm with all kinds of animals. During his latest visit to The Netherlands he told already about the children's album in the making and he sang a funny song about his tractor. Now the CD has arrived here indeed, compliments for Jason, as this is a faultlessly worked-out great idea! This music is meant for toddlers & kindergarten-kids, the catchy melodies and simple lyrics are easy to pick up, with some explanation also for children who don't know English. The CD-booklet has a lay-out of very funny colorful drawings coming with every song and a picture of Farmer Jason himself with his three sweethearts. He takes the listening children along during a day at the farm, from waking up via an introduction to all kinds of animals, ending with a pretty lullaby that he sings with TV-personality Tahra Dergee. Every track is started off by a short (educational) story and the various animal-sounds, realized by voices as well as on instruments, are of course hilarious. Musicians who play on the album are among others George Bradfute (also producer) and Fats Kaplin, no less. Addie Rose and Camille receive credits for "The Doggie Dance" and sing with their friends in The Little Farmers Chorus too. With a wink at the notorious sticker, the Parental Advisory reads: This CD contains songs that will have you singing along with your kids! Why didn't we have something this nice and funny when we were little? Written and translated by Johanna J. Bodde |
